Ürdünde başkent Amman, maalesef yoğunluğu ve bakımsızlığıyla beklentimin altında kaldı.
Ancak seyahatin devamı tam anlamıyla büyüleyiciydi. Wadi Musa ve Vadi Rum’un masalsı çöl atmosferinden sonra Dead Sea’ye geçmek unutulmaz bir deneyimdi. Suyun kaldırma kuvveti sayesinde batmadan yüzeyde kalmak gerçekten tarifi zor bir his. Biyolojik olarak yüksek tuz oranı nedeniyle içinde hiçbir canlının yaşayamadığı bu doğa harikası, kesinlikle ölmeden önce deneyimlenmesi gereken yerlerden biri.
Seyahatin en tatlı sürprizi ise Madaba oldu. Yaklaşık %20’lik Hristiyan nüfusuyla oldukça kozmopolit, son derece temiz ve modern bir yapıya sahip bu tarihi şehir beni kendine hayran bıraktı. Üstelik mozaikleriyle ünlü olan Madaba’nın insanı da bir o kadar sıcak, güler yüzlü ve misafirperver. Şehirde gittiğim restoranda yediğim yemek ise samimiyetle söylüyorum ki hayatımda tattığım en iyi lezzetlerden biriydi. Bizimle ilgilenen genç arkadaşın ilgisi ve nezaketi deneyimimizi ikiye katladı; kendisine buradan bir kez daha minnettarım.
