It`s so very easy to just wack on a "Lovecraftian" label to any deep sea horror, you can`t really find yourself set upon a boat without the thought of Cthulhu`s giant slimey head popping out of the water. But I definitely think Tim Curran`s mammoth of a read "Dead Sea" deserves that label and very more.
Interdimensional horror? Check
Giant monsters with unknown origin? Check
Characters so thirsty that I constantly needed a sip of water? Lots of checks.
It was a great book, all 478 pages of it.
But I will give a warning now, there is one character so unlikable, so homophobic that I wanted to reach into the pages myself and...
But other than that, a fantastic read. 4 out of 5 stars
